When this template fits
Who it is for
For insurers assembling policies from several building blocks. The more clauses and riders are possible, the more a written process pays off, because otherwise every policy looks different.
Where it typically stalls
At the check before dispatch. It gets skipped because the policy comes out of the system anyway. That is exactly where wrong premiums and missing clauses arise, found by the customer rather than the department.
What it connects to
Upstream is application acceptance. Downstream are contract changes and, in the worst case, claim recording, which refers back to this policy.
Relation to standards
A checked and released document before dispatch matches the usual expectation for controlled documents. The template keeps checking and dispatch as separate steps.
Part of these process maps
A single process says little about where it sits in the company. These maps show it among its neighbours.
